I just wanted to say a BIG thank you for all your efforts at such short notice to arrange care for Archie while I was away in England. It turned out to be a longer and tougher trip than I had intended and it was such a relief to know that he was being well looked after. Jenny and Janine got him off to a very good start and I think he must have settled really well and been very happy with Simon over the five weeks he was there because he looks so fit and well and gave me quite a subdued welcome at the airport……….! (I guess he was entitled to be a bit sulky with me for a bit!) Anyway, it’s great to be back with my best mate and much appreciation again for taking such trouble to make sure he was happy while I was away.

Finally have the opportunity to write and thank you for recommending Phoebe and Ben to take care of Ricky. Phoebe and Ben are a warm, caring and pleasant young couple and it is a privilege to meet and for Ricky to say with them. I could tell Ricky was looked after and taken care of since he is normally unsettled when he arrives home after staying with strangers, however this time he was happy and behaving normally and settled back home as if nothing happened. It really was a holiday for him. Thanks for everything and All the very best for Christmas and the New Year.

I had called after our first day away to check how Matilda was going and Nicole was great and told me that Matilda had been upset at first but was eating and drinking and fitting in already. I appreciated her honesty as I really would rather know if there are problems than be told everything is perfect and it isn’t. She told me about some things Matilda had started doing that were definite signs she was comfortable – like sitting in laps to watch TV, following people around, and joining in with her dogs in their activities. This was excellent to hear and I didn’t worry at all from that moment.

We picked up Matilda from Nicole yesterday as we got home before our expected time and were missing her so much that when I rang Nicole she was happy for me to come over and get her. Matilda was really pleased to see me, but I was just so delighted to watch how happy and content she had become in Nicole’s home. Both Nicole and her children were excited to tell me all the things Matilda got up to, from how they went out of their way to ensure she ate enough, to how she was involved in their daily routines – apparently Matilda woke the kids in the morning with cuddles and so they were up for school early each day. I almost felt bad to take her away! They all farewelled Matilda with cuddles and good wishes and I could only give them all a hug in thanks.

I hope that Nicole is available in the future to care for Matilda when needed. I am sure I would never be able to find another person/family/place that would be as accommodating and caring as this. Thank you for helping us find her. I will definitely recommend her (through Don’t Fret Pet) to others I know as I am sure they will be as happy as we are.
