We are very happy with Alan and Kaylene as minders and Bonnie was very well looked after and was loved like she was at home with us. I had left instructions for Alan and Kaylene to give Bonnie only her normal food and to give her medication that she was on for her skin irritation which they did. They followed all of our instructions and when we arrived to get her Bonnie was swimming in the pool having a great time and Alan was sad to see her go.

Where do I start…? How about the fact that I don’t know that Devlin is actually happy to be home??!! He had a REAL holiday. I took him out for half a day on the middle weekend so saw him mid-stay and was extremely happy with Elizabeth’s care of him… more than care; he was loved and entertained. As I said, he had a country holiday – treks to the markets, lunch at cafes, walks along the beach, playing with children and even a holiday “bro-mance” with Elizabeth’s Russell.

I could not possibly be more pleased because the services so far exceeded my expectations! And at a time when I was desperate… my supposed “doggy” family will discover just how long I can hold a grudge ;-). Elizabeth was welcoming and accommodating, responding promptly to any text update requests from Dev’s worried mistress. Apparently, my monkey ended up sleeping in the master bedroom within a few days!! I’m not that surprised as he honed his puppy persuasion powers very early… snuggles up and casts a doleful backwards glance; most effective.

This service is a godsend to the responsible pet owner who cringes at the very thought of a boarding kennel, and I thank you for just being around! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I have to say that Don’t Fret Pet is the answer to all our prayers. Previously when we’ve been on holiday Maggie has stayed with my mother-in-law who isn’t a doggie person and Maggie isn’t treated the same way when she’s there. Collecting her after a holiday is always upsetting as she’s usually quite out of sorts and stressed for days after we’ve come home. However this time after staying with Janet we collected a very happy little dog, she was her usual boisterous self with no sign of stress and she settled back home immediately. She obviously had a good time and she got on very well with their dog Parker, they’re both the same size and look like brother and sister. When we leave for our next holiday on the 17th it will be nice to have peace of mind and go away with no worries knowing that she’ll be well looked after and loved. For the first time I boarded my pets overnight with Don’t Fret Pet – this was after a successful trial run with day care. What a difference from kennels. I have not gone on holidays without my current whippets for several years, as their two predecessors – also whippets – suffered greatly in kennels, and we stopped using kennels. After a stint at kennels we often had to spend money at the vets because my then whippets had either dehydrated or caught a serious illness necessitating them being put on drips – probably due to the stress. They always lost weight.

With Don’t Fret Pet my current two whippets came back to me happy, not having lost weight and giving every impression that they had enjoyed themselves. They had two walks a day, and ate all their food. Although I usually take them on holidays with me, it is nice to know that I can now plan an overseas trip and not have to worry about them being properly looked after.

I’ve been back from my holiday for about two weeks now (how time flies when you come home to 3000 emails!) and thought I should mention how the dogs, Olly and Charlie went.

They had an absolute blast at Margaret W’s. When we picked them up they were excited for about 60 seconds and then just wanted to go play again. They didn’t miss us too much – because they had someone else to love them for us. Margaret had sent us photos of them via email, so we knew when we were away that they were not fretting. The only thing I had been worried about was them getting out. They are little run away artists when they see an open door. So, Margret had locked her front door with the key for all the time we were away and made everyone come in via a triple airlock system past the garage, laundry and bathroom. They were very secure.

They must have had a great time, they were so peaceful and contented when they got home. If all your minders are as well chosen as Margaret (and Cassie), you must have a great team.

We returned from our 5 day trip to Melbourne last night very eager to see our lovely golden retriever girls, having missed them a whole lot and being slightly concerned for their wellbeing whilst we were away. We anticipated a huge welcome home from them but found them so unbelievably calm when we arrived at the minder’s home they barely made a fuss. The girls were very at home and had settled in with the family. The girls had 5 solid days of play with the 3 children and were obviously well exercised as we actually had to wake them up for dinner last night – imagine a retriever not being awake and ready for dinner at exactly 7pm as normal! Added bonus was coming home to 2 very clean and well brushed dogs!

Now that we’ve found you, we might go away a little more often. Having 2 dogs we absolutely dote on has made going away for even a weekend very difficult, but we’ll happily leave them and not be at all worried for them from now on. I actually feel bad for my girls now – they’re back to being by themselves all day whilst we’re at work. I know they’ll miss the minders very much. I know why you call yourselves Don’t Fret Pet! The pets didn’t fret nor did the humans. Thanks again for everything and extra special big, hairy golden thanks to Maria & Family!
