What if something happens to the dog while I’m minding it?
We have Public Liability insurance that protects you should anything happen to the dog while you are minding it.
I have my own dog. Can I still become a “Don’t Fret Pet!” minder?
Yes, as long as your dog is well socialised. We would send you dogs that are compatible with your dog so that both dogs have a great time.
Can I continue to mind dogs my friend's and family’s dogs when I am a “Don’t Fret Pet!” minder?
Yes, no problem at all but you must let us know if another dog will be there when we book a dog with you and, if you have already committed to minding a dog for a “Don’t Fret Pet!” client, you would need to honour that commitment.
Would I need to let the dog inside?
Yes, dog owners who use “Don’t Fret Pet!” do so because their dog is very much part of the family and is used to being inside with them.
Do I need to have a fenced yard?
Absolutely, security is the most important thing when minding a dog.
Can I let a dog off lead in the park or on the beach when I’m minding it?
Definitely not as we have to be sure that the dog can’t escape at any time. If you have a securely fenced, double-gated dog off leash area near you then you can let the dog off lead in that area.
How much do I get paid for minding a dog?
We pay a small daily allowance which varies depending upon where you live but are looking for absolute dog lovers to be sure that they are minding dogs for the right reason.
I could only mind small dogs, would that be ok?
Definitely, you tell us what size dog you would like to mind and we'll only send you dogs of that size.
I would really only like to mind Labradors and Golden Retrievers. Would that be ok?
Certainly, you have to be happy minding dogs for us so we would only send you the breeds that you would want to mind.
When I have my own dog minded by “Don’t Fret Pet!” do I get a discount?
As long as you have minded at least two “Don’t Fret Pet!” dogs within the last six months we are happy to give you a 10% discount.
